Mechanisms of hormone action; signal transduction and second messengers; regulation of hormone and neurotransmitter secretion; inositol phospholipid biochemistry

Current research in the Martin lab focuses on elucidating the function of phospholipid-binding proteins (e.g., CAPS, Munc13) that prime the SNARE-based secretory apparatus for membrane fusion, and elucidating functional roles of CAPS throughout the secretory pathway.
