IPiB faculty member Catherine Fox has been elected a Fellow to the American Academy of Microbiology. Fellows of the American Academy of Microbiology, an honorific leadership group within the American Society of Microbiology, are elected annually through a highly selective, peer-review process, based on their records of scientific achievement and original contributions that have advanced microbiology.
Fox’s lab broadly focuses on the processes that take place in the nucleus of the cell. They investigate, for example, the mechanisms behind how chromosomes replicate and how this works with other processes to allow cells to grow and divide normally. The work has implications for basic science as well as human disease.
