Feyza Engin, associate professor in the Department of Biomolecular Chemistry, is among 18 faculty to be honored with the H.I. Romnes Fellowship. The fellowships recognize faculty with exceptional research contributions in the first six years after promotion to a tenured position. The award is named in recognition of the late WARF trustees president H.I. Romnes and comes with $60,000 that may be spent over five years.
Engin’s lab studies cellular stress responses and organelle dysfunction and interaction; for example, pancreatic β-cell function and survival.
