IPiB Faculty Named Pew Scholar in Biomedical Sciences

Peter Lewis, an assistant professor in the Department of Biomolecular Chemistry (BMC), has been named a Pew scholar in the biomedical sciences by The Pew Charitable Trusts. Along with the Department of Biochemistry, BMC is part of the merged graduate program called the Integrated Program in Biochemistry (IPiB).

Lewis is also part of the Wisconsin Institute for Discovery and researches epigenetics. He is interested in how chromosome structure can affect animal development.

He joined the University of Wisconsin-Madison faculty in 2013 and is one of only 22 early-career biomedical scientists to receive the honor.
